Kulturamt Frankfurt
The film section of the Frankfurt Cultural Office is responsible for project funding of film-related cultural activities, which may also include other forms of analog and digital (audio)visual artistic work.
This includes, in particular, film cultural events such as film festivals and film series. These should take place in Frankfurt am Main, extend over a limited period of time, feature a curated program, offer an accompanying program if possible, and be aimed at a broad audience.
Serving as a stimulus for film culture events, the Cultural Office of the City of Frankfurt aims to promote projects of independent film culture initiatives and institutions, to network stakeholders and to support the development of Frankfurt's film landscape.
The office also provides advice to the regional film scene. Funding for film projects can only be granted in exceptional cases if they are closely related to Frankfurt's cultural or urban history, mostly in documentary form.
Applications can be submitted at any time before the project begins.
Applications should be addressed to the corresponding contact person and sent to kulturfoerderung@stadt-frankfurt.de.
