Episodic Film 15x3
In its long history, the Filmhaus Frankfurt association has not only supported numerous film projects, but has sometimes also produced them as well. One of these is Episodenfilm 15x3 ODER 6000 FRANKFURT from 1990. This was the first film production of the non-profit association, founded in December 1989, which presented itself to the public with this work. Renowned filmmakers from the Filmhaus community were asked to contribute a 3-minute episode each (contrary to the title, the film consists of 16 episodes). Topic, content and design were freely chosen, the Filmhaus provided film and sound material and covered a share of the production costs. In this way, stimulating and entertaining animations, documentaries, experimental films and other creative films were created, which not only captured Frankfurt of 30 years ago, but also reveal an individual artistic perspective on the city. Even today, the work is representative of the creativity and versatility of Frankfurt's film scene. Thanks to financial support from the Kulturamt Frankfurt, 15x3 ODER 6000 FRANKFURT was digitized and restored in 2021. The digitization was carried out with the kind support of Omnimago in Ingelheim.
The film is now available again in digital form for theatrical use and is mediated by the Film- und Kinobüro Hessen as part of its "kurz+hessisch" offer. Due to their duration of 3 minutes each, the individual episodes are ideally suited as short films/preliminary films for cinemas and festivals.
As agreed at the time, the revenues generated will be shared with the participating filmmakers. To the offer „kurz+hessisch“ of the Film- und Kinobüro Hessen.
